Over the past 25 years, many students and friends suggested Michelle and I share our stories about traveling and life together to a wider audience. Michelle is an excellent writer and I tell pretty good stories. :) This is our first attempt at trying to build a larger audience for our reflections on traveling, raising children, marriage, life, and our love of America. When our two oldest children were young, we made a promise to them and to ourselves that we would make it to all 50 states before they graduated from college and started their own working lives. We made it to 47 of the 50! We have three more to go!

Our oldest son Jack graduated from Dartmouth last year and our daughter Emma graduated from UCLA the same weekend! Although we missed our goal of hitting all 50 states, we all firmly believe our travels together as a family shaped and continue to influence all of us in powerful ways. Many of the stories and lessons learned on the road are what we will be sharing with you.

We will publish at least one reflective Travels Across America or Lessons in Life essay each week (with a few extra along the way) in addition to reading and travel enhancing resource recommendations. Our subscription will work out to be approximately $1.00 per post ($5 per month or $60 for the year). We are going to try this through December 2022. We hope our stories will inspire all of us to get back on the road and tap into the wanderlust that makes life worth living. We hope you will subscribe to get full access to the newsletter and website. Never miss an update.
